Lately I've been thinking about how blessed I am. Especially the blessing to be married to my husband. It is pretty remarkable that someone would choose to spend their life with another person and I am so grateful that my husband has made this choice. Not to say that is has always been bliss, we have had our ups and our downs. We've struggled through college together, been super, SUPER broke together, and lost loved ones together. On the up side, we've had 3 beautiful children together and thankfully, we are not broke anymore. My husband has a good job and I have the privilege of staying home with our children. My biggest blessings have come in large part because of my husband and a very loving Father in Heaven. I am truly blessed! And I am reminded of that every year during the holidays. I LOVE this time of year, my whole being is just filled with the spirit of gratitude and I see my life in a new and better light.
This is why I chose my project, I wanted to remember to "Count my Blessings." It's a board about 6x15 inches. I painted it red, then yellow, then red again (I didn't know what I wanted when I started), then smeared some brown over the top to make it looked a little distressed -and the red was too bright on its own. I chose colors and papers that were fall-ish yet still generic enough I can leave my sign up all year if I choose. If you know me, you know I love red, and it's never out of season at my house.
You could take the same idea and cut your words out smaller and put them on a card. I think it would make a nice card.
Now go "count your blessings" while you hop through this fabulous blog hop. Angelina is next.

Too cute!! I like the printed paper....I think it's just the right amount.
ReplyDeleteGREAT project, Traci. We are lucky girls to have men that love us, too. It's nice to know you have someone that will be there to listen to you whine, rant, cry, laugh, share excitements, and just sit and listen to the silence. I love the board. I've been trying to decide what to put on my office closet doors... this may just be the ticket. :)
ReplyDeleteTraci this is beautiful! I am a big fan of red myself. This would look very nice hanging on the wall.
ReplyDeleteTraci, I LOVE your sign. It is both beautiful and rustic. How clever of you.
ReplyDeleteI am following your blog now and I hope that blesses you.\
Blessings on your day,
Teresa
