Yes, it's been a while since I've posted, thanks to Alida for the encouragement!
Here is the big project. . .. .
I saw something like this from BH&Gs: http://www.bhg.com/holidays/valentines-day/decorating/hand-crafted-valentines-day-decor/#page=2 It's on the page with the Valentine banner - but it wasn't the banner that caught my eye, it was the sign that said "LOVE"
and I REALLY wanted to have some Valentine cheer at our house so I decided to make this sign:
It was REALLY easy! You could use a canvas if you wanted to but this is just and old fashioned piece of board 1x8 or 1x10 or something. I spray painted the board white, then cut letters with my Wishblade. The font for the "L, V, and E" is called "Cooper Black" and the heart is a "Y" in the "Webdings" font.
The shape of the letters are so simple you could print them out and cut around them with scissors on colored cardstock (patterned paper would be really cute, too) You wouldn't have to use a electronic cutter if you don't have one or don't want to.
I hope you like my sign. I was fun to do and the best part was the reaction from my kids when the saw it. You would have thought my 3 year old little boy had never seen a heart before "Oh a HEART!" he said very enthusiastically.
Happy Valentines!
p.s. while I was writing this post I totally lost track of how many almond valentine kisses I ate. . . blast!
p.p.s. Maybe my next post should be a healthy valentine recipe. .. is there such a thing? ;-)
p.p.p.s. special thanks to Ryan for providing the beautiful flowers, and special thanks to the 3 year for being naughty so Ryan would bring me flowers.
